Core Electives of the specialisations The students in the Assessment Year with specialisation in Economics complete the Core Elective Mathematics; students in the Assessment Year with specialisation in Law complete the Core Elective Law II. Core Elective Mathematics The aim of teaching Mathematics in the Assessment Year is to provide students with the mathematical concepts that are required for their core studies in Economics. The focus of the lessons is very much on examples and applications in Economics. Formalism is kept within limits; proofs are carried out only in exceptional cases. Core Elective Law II The Core Elective Law II takes place in the Autumn Semester and covers Criminal Law and Procedural Criminal Law. In the Spring Semester Law II deals with the areas of Liability Law, Introductory Articles of the Swiss Civil Code and Law of Persons.
